Ross and I had a nice weekend and were very excited to finally meet Aaron, our nephew! Here are some pictures for you guys. He's being held by his grandma Melinda and his father Ryan in these.
I have found some wonderful free entertainment on the internet lately. So wonderful in fact, that I feel the need to share it.
First of all, if any of you have not checked out the band Anathallo, you should. They have one of the most unique sounds I have ever heard, and their live shows are amazing. Ross recently found their out of print Hymns EP available for download. The sound of it is more traditional than the rest of their music, but it has some great hymns on it and I have been enjoying it very much.
Secondly, I have just discovered that YouTube has a number of episodes from classic Nickelodeon shows available to watch in their entirety! Now, I don't know if anyone else can relate but I hold a certain fondness in my heart for shows like Hey Dude,Are You Afraid of the Dark? and Salute Your Shorts.
Last but not least: the video for the song "Here it Goes Again" by OK Go. Please watch this, it is incredibly entertaining!
Well, hopefully something from this post will make your week a little more interesting!!
Today started with a trip to Wal-Mart. This was absolutely necessary because we really needed groceries. I strategically placed this trip to Wal-Mart EARLY this morning and was all prepared to write an entry about how great it was because there were so few fellow shoppers to contend with and I was able to cross everything off my list quickly. However, as I went to unlock my car I dropped my keys right into a very fresh oozy blob of berrylicious gum, which I spent the next few minutes trying to clean off of my keys. Ugh. So now this entry will turn into a plea to find a trash can when you need to rid yourself of old gum. I think that this would make everyone just a little happier. It seems I'm not alone in my mission.
So, here's my attempt to update you on my life since my last post....oh, so long ago. May was mostly spent anticipating our closing date of May 26 and making plans for what we would be doing to the house. Since May 26, we have been official homeowners! Our house had not been updated in quite awhile (if ever), so we have been busy scraping wallpaper, painting, ripping out vanities, etc. We have learned a LOT over the last few weeks, the biggest lesson being that things are NOT as quick and easy as they look on HGTV :) We really love our home and neighborhood. I REALLY AM going to post some pictures soon...I just have to take the time to edit them and decide which ones. In other news, May 30 was our 2nd anniversary: Ross had a temperature and I was scraping wallpaper....very romantic :), but I have to say that I truly love my husband and he is amazing to me. I've had several stressed-out, overwhelming moments with this whole home-ownership thing, but he is so good at putting my feet back on the ground when I freak out. The Lord has truly blessed me with a loving husband and I am grateful. In June, we moved in (though we are FAR from being settled), Ross turned 23, we went to 2 friends' weddings (congrats Drew/Beth and Rob/Esther), and spent a few days in Atlanta where we went to the CNN Center, the Coke museum, Six Flags Whitewater water park, and (drumroll please) IKEA. That was REALLY fun. We just got back last Tuesday night, and have been working on our cabinets ever since (with a break in there to go to Murfreesboro and help Ryanna start work on their new home. So, now you're current on the life of Romanda (for the most part) and I can start posting on a daily basis...like that would ever happen!
